Super Ninjas to the Rescue!

Took these guys out and had a great time playing! As you can see, they rescued me from the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (for those of you old enough to remember Ghostbusters)! They are pretty awesome with their swords and daggers. Scared ME... :)

Fall Mini-sessions

This weekend looks to hold some fantastic weather, so come on out to have photos made in Murfreesboro. These sessions will be full of new ideas and I'm so excited to see the results. There will be playful props in an enchanting setting perfect for capturing moments of mischief.
1. Saturday morning: apples and other fun things hanging from trees as well as many other playful props that speak FALL such as baskets, buckets, ladders and more! Can't wait for the fun!
2. Sunday afternoon: a drum set in a field of tall grass with the sun in the background. Guitar and microphone as well as a couple of other props will also be available for your future rock stars. Come dressed ready to play!

A beach, a wedding and a fire

Last weekend, I was lucky enough to travel to Orange Beach, AL for Ashley and Blake's wedding. I had done their engagement photos a couple of months ago and somehow talked them into letting me shoot their wedding too!
The weather was fantastic with a nice, cool breeze blowing and temps in the upper 80s. We did have a little scare at one point when a huge fire broke out a few miles away. The power went out and there were rumors that the main power source was on fire. Luckily, within about an hour, everything was back to normal with the exception of a huge smoke cloud billowing behind the condominiums. Made for some interesting photos at times.
Everyone had fun and Ashley looked AMAZING! There is nothing like photos on the beach, and she picked the most fabulous colors to accent it all. Love these guys. ;)

Beth and Jason are so perfect together and I had a great time getting to know them as a couple. Their families were a ton of fun too. The day went seamlessly and everyone had a fantastic time! I finally get to post a few from her bridal session, too, now that their big day is over and they are off hanging out in the sun. Congratulations to them both!

Tea Time

These girls have soooo much personality, especially Zoey (the readhead. Imagine that!) We found a few places around the house to snap a few pictures & I absolutely LOVE Lyla's (the little one) expression in the family shot!

We then stopped for a little while to have a tea party. Fun times! The girls hammed it up for me.

Abi Kate

Meet Abi Kate: She came into this world January 27th (the day after my own birthday. heehee) through a perfect natural birth. Yay Mom! Katie had an incredible experience and I have been blessed to get to know these guys. She contacted me months ago about doing her maternity photos. I have to say that she and Tom are one of the most complementary couples I have met. While he is calm and grounded, she is full of energy and excitement. Being around them makes you smile. Abi is going to be one happy kid (though I hear she's got her days and nights a little confused at the moment)!

Birthday parties

I shot a couple of birthday parties last weekend. Caraline's 5th birthday and Jacob's 1st. Here are some highlights from their celebrations.

Jacob's 1st birthday was at mom and dad's house. Lots of family around to help celebrate. As you can tell by the look on his face, he was a little unsure of the process, it being his very first :) It took him a little while to get into tearing up that cake, but once he did, he really dug in!

Caraline had hers at Faithful Strokes, a painting studio off the square in Murfreesboro. The instructors took the kids step-by-step through the process of creating these super cute monkey paintings. Most of the kids had help from mom and dad, but they did a lot of the work themselves. Pretty cool!

Baby Cooper (almost) !

Baby Cooper should be arriving shortly. In the midst of moving, mom realized she had to fit in belly photos before he was here! So, here they are, 35 weeks pregnant!
Ole Ted made it into a few pictures. He was dad's bear when he was little and he's remained a part of the family for the little ones to now love on. Love it!

Well, she finally made it. My baby brother's new baby, Beatrice! She was in no rush and already about a week late, but they brought her into the world, despite her best efforts to remain in mom's belly. I got a chance to finally photograph her today. She whined and complained (but in a really cute way that only babies can), relaxing long enough to give us some great shots. I even got to try out a bunch of my new hats! I absolutely LOVE all that hair. Congrats, guys!!!!!

Frozen fun

It was sooo cold the day we went out to do these pictures. I think mom said they had 3 layers on! The boys were so good and I was pretty impressed with how long they lasted outside. But, boys will be boys and they will play, regardless We had battles over sticks, branches and rocks. Luckily mom brought lollipops. Almost had a meltdown. Me? or the kids? Not telling ;)

Asa J & Abby

Little Asa...what can I say? This is the 3rd time I have done his pictures. He always grins (and what a great grin he has!) and cooperates so perfectly. Kudos to mom who knows how much I love hats. She always has one ready for his sessions.
Always fun to have big sis, Abby, jump in there and join us. She can get him going when no one else can and I love how she always holds her sleeves in pictures. Reminds me of me when I was a teenager :)

Oh, and hee hee... taught him to stick out his tongue. Bad me! But it's soooo cute! He's trying so hard!

This is Sophie. So cute! I got to photograph her baby brother a couple of months ago and she wanted nothing to do with me that day. :0 This session she had me all to herself so she hammed it up! She is for sure one of the smiliest (I THINK that's a word!) kids I've photographed!

Well, Saturday was a busy day, but we had a lot of fun and took a lot of pictures. Here are some of my favorites from the day. The weather was fantastic, and a lot of fall colors! ...and I'm loving the hats and the props!

Well, it's been a while since my last posting. I have been so busy since going back to my 'day job'. LOL! Teaching is great! I am truly blessed to have such a great schedule that allows me to balance the two professions along with a 2 1/2 year old. Four Foods and a Wedding...(not to be confused with Four Weddings and a Funeral)

I have this fabulous cousin who decided to get married up in New York, so John and I left little Abby at home and ventured up North! It was gorgeous weather and we spent time walking all over the city. We left enough time to have dinner with an old friend from high school, at The Spotted Pig. If ever visiting, check it out.
Interesting menu.... Never would have tried it had it been up to us.... But, it was fabulous! We sampled pork tongue (a little like bologna), pork cheek (a little easier to stomach-it was like really tender BBQ) and my favorite: shoestring fries cooked in Rosemary, completely doused in salt (they just throw the rosemary in with the oil and it is heaven) Figs wrapped in bacon. Wow! No pictures...too busy having fun.
So, back to the wedding. I was not the hired photographer, just the annoying cousin with the camera.... got some fun shots, though!

I stole their rings for a little while so we could go play and be creative. My cousin, Kathleen held the light! Took some in the flowers, the grass, but this is my favorite! Love the reflection.

Yum Yum! Appetizer hour was the best part! They had these tomatoes with mozzarella poking out of the grass. How artistic is that? The very best were the coconut shrimp. I hunted them down every time I saw a tray! No pictures. They disappeared too fast! Yes....I love food!

They have soooo much fun together. Rich just shook her hand after the priest introduced them as married. The church roared! Then.... he kissed her!

Bright Eyes

This is one of my latest little peanuts to photograph.

She has the sweetest personality.

We had some fun times during her 3 month session. She smiled a lot for us and I just can't help loving this one. My heart melts every time I look at this picture!

There's something about that little tongue poking out of her mouth.

She is such a bright-eyed and beautiful baby!

Just look at those yummy little wrinkles on her belly and the sweet way she crossed her feet just to show us all her perfect little toes!

Well, I know I'm really behind on my posts. I have been over-enjoying my summer with Abby. But, I have vowed to get back to work and post at least 2x each week until I'm caught up. Got a lot of great shots to share in the coming weeks.
So.....

This is Kelsey! I had the best time photographing her a few weeks ago (well, maybe it's been a LITTLE longer than that....) She looks amazing in absolutely every shot!

We had the best time playing around in an alley off the square in downtown M'boro. She was so relaxed and just enjoyed being herself. Couldn't ask for more!

She is the perfect model...when she is famous one day, I told her I'd LOVE to shoot her album or book cover!

We took Abby to the aquarium for the first time a couple of weeks ago (well, maybe a little longer than that. Am I that far behind on my blogs!?). We went to the one in Gatlinburg and she absolutely loved it! Well, I have to admit, I did too. What a great chance to pull out my camera and get in a little practice!

I love the jellyfish. The way they move is amazing. So calming (well, when they are behind glass and not in the ocean floating right by my legs!).

This guy needed no editing. He (or she?) was a perfect subject!

Abby's favorite, on the other hand:

Giant Crabs!

She was totally enthralled with them.

Personally, I think they're kindof creepy. Long, thin legs. Spiny bumps all over their bodies....

...so, after the aquarium, Abby was super excited about getting into some water, so we let her take a bubble bath. Another first! She took it very seriously! Went all out!

But, I tell you, she played hard, got all wrinkled up like a prune and slept great that night! She woke up looking every bit of her little toddler self again! Whew!

So, I had the opportunity to play around with some ADORABLE twins the other day!

How fun is that?!

Had a fabulous time with two radically different personalities.

He is such a happy baby, trying at all times to catch an eye and get some lovin'. Never had to ask for a smile or try to get him to look at me.

She, on the other hand, is little miss attitude. Soooo cute! Turning her head, smiling sheepishly. Making me work for it every time.

Have to admit....we had a ball, & it was WELL worth it!

OMG! (boy, that was fun talking like a teenager!) This is one of THE cutest kids I have ever seen!

We had sooo much fun eating Puffs and making funny faces. I have a new buddy and we are going to have so much fun together! I cannot tell you what a ham she is!

And those lips! Mom, watch out for the boys, because they will be lining up!

Had a great time photographing this precious little one.

She was 6 weeks old and as active as could be (well, when she was awake...)! Her parents were so patient through the entire process. Kudos to them!

I especially loved holding her. I had no idea how much I missed having a little bitty one in my arms. Mine is almost 2, and the only time I get to hold her is when we are out somewhere and I have 3 million other things I am trying to hold at the same time and adding her to the mix just about tears off my shoulder! :)

Oh, the things we take for granted. Anyway, not taking this little one for granted....

The child voted city finalist may elect to serve as a model during the 2009 Sandy Puc Tots 2 Teens Seminar at a city near their home.

Stingy with the photos

So, I rarely have opportunity to take pictures of my daughter anymore.

She HATES it when I get out the camera. John had stayed home with her for the day, and he put her in what I call her "Charlie Brown dress". Bring back any memories??? Suffice it to say, she was in a fabulous mood and let me catch a few before running off to work a puzzle or two.

I recently went running around downtown with a fellow photographer friend (Steph w/BellaFlora Photography) on a VERY icy cold Saturday morning.
